Recently, I was to preach at a church late in the evening. I had already taken a Bible Study that afternoon and also preached in another worship that day. Working all through the week as a Specialist in Internal Medicine where the second shift ends by 9 pm and 11 pm would be the time when I would retire for the day, travelling and preaching on the day of rest sometimes has a toll on my body and it was so that evening. By the time I reached the Church premises, I was tired because the walk to the place after parking the vehicle was a long one. I thought of freshening up by washing my face in the wash room. My mind seemed to be focused on my being weak and whether I would be able to deliver the sermon effectively. As I mused on these, suddenly a few lines of a Malayalam song that I had not sung for many years quietly ran through my mind. The words of the song were so powerful that it instantaneously refreshed me and gave me confidence that all would go well. I believe it was none other than God who made it happen.
The few lines of the song that went through my mind were these.....The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. (Psalm 18:2)......He will not let you down. He will not let you fall.
This is not an isolated event. There have been many instances where God has spoken to me through songs and the answers to the problems troubling my mind has been spot on.
It's true that God the Holy Spirit who lives in us, knows every thought that passes through our minds and speaks to us with his still small voice in many ways...sometimes playing a song for us in our minds from his vast treasures.
We need to be sensitive to the workings of the Holy Spirit in our lives. It's wonderful that God himself dwells in us; us who have accepted the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross at Calvary. Praise God.

Adversity averted
This dream was regarding a patient of mine who was working in a multinational company as a storekeeper. One night I dreamt that certain colleagues of his were planning to falsely accuse him and do harm to him. I prayed for the matter on waking up the next morning that the Lord may avert any adversity that was to come upon him. He used to visit the clinic once in a while to consult me for his illnesses but it was quite a while since I had seen him. One of his family members visited me a couple of days later and I inquired the whereabouts of this person and told him what the Lord had shown me. Immediately he told me that his relative was indeed involved in a problem. It seems he had an altercation with a couple of his colleagues and they were now behaving rudely with him and threatening him with dire consequences. I told him to convey the Lord's counsel to his relative of maintaining calm and praying regarding the matter, for the Lord would not allow his enemies to harm him. I was informed later on that things had calmed down in his work place.
Concerning the said person, he was not someone who lived close to the Lord, yet God in his mercy chose to save him from an adversity that was to come upon his life. Perhaps it was God's way of letting him know that God loved and cared for him.
We read of God conveying a message through his prophet to a gentile king in the book of Isaiah. It says, "I am the LORD, and there is no one else. Besides me, there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not known me, that they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is no one besides me. I am the LORD, and there is no one else." (Isaiah 45:5, 6)
God chooses to reveal himself in the lives of many people and he does it in many ways. Praise God for his mercies.

Gifts need to be used for it to flourish
There are many believers who are given gifts of the Holy Spirit, but they hardly use it for the benefit of other believers or unbelievers for the propagation of the kingdom of God. And if not used, the gifts stagnate as they do not benefit either the recipient of the gift or others. Some believers take the gift of tongues very lightly as if it is not a great gift, perhaps because they don't see any external evidence of it bringing them any blessing or because believers in Jesus Christ who do not believe in the gifts ridicule them and they get discouraged.
I saw a dream regarding a believer in Jesus Christ being troubled by a demonic force and saw his wife who was gifted by the Lord with power to drive out demons unable to exercise her gift and set her husband free because she had hardly used the gift and now did not have faith to use it.
Speaking secularly, a gift is like a new skill that one has learnt and when used repeatedly, the person using it gets better and better, because the results are evidenced. With a spiritual gift, when results are seen, faith increases in the user and he/she is able to exercise the gift with better and consistent results.
The Holy Spirit of God gives spiritual gifts to all who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. It is imperative that every believer comes to a knowledge of their gifting and use it for the glory of God and for the extension of his kingdom here on earth.
Do not ignore your gift, but fan it in to flame as Paul the Apostle exhorts his spiritual son Timothy.
Don't neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the elders. (1 Timothy 4:14)
I remind you that you should stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. (2 Timothy 1:6)

Future Ministry
Several times in dreams, the Lord has shown me different places that I would visit in the future, either alone or as a family; some for ministry and some for vacation. Some of the places are located in the middle east, some in Africa and some in the United States. One of the dreams among these stands out because it had mention of a place I had never heard about.
In the dream, a pastor friend of mine was prophesying to me and he said, "The Lord will take you to Whiteland, where you will have a ministry among the people there."When he said that, in the dream, I think, "Whiteland, Whiteland"...never heard of a place with that name. Maybe the pastor means that I will go a land where I will minister among whites. The dream ended there.
The name intrigued me and so early next morning, I thought of Googling the name and was pleasantly surprised...There actually existed a place called Whiteland in Johnson County, Indiana, United States.
When and how I will reach Whiteland remains a mystery as of now, but I believe God will open doors when it is his time. Praise God for his plans.
The Apostle Paul, while travelling to Rome to stand trial before Caesar, had a 3 month ministry near a place where the ship in which he was travelling was destroyed. A place called Malta, of which the Lord did not inform him beforehand. Though it was unannouned by the Lord to Paul when he had spoken to him earlier, he had a great ministry among the people there with God doing great miracles.
God can surprise his children with his plans sometimes. No coincidences or sudden plans for him though. Everything planned to perfection, with him knowing the outcome of situations before it ever happens.
The counsel of the LORD stands fast forever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. (Psalms 33:11)
