In 2010, when we were planning to release our second Christian songs album in Malayalam, I wanted a few songs to be sung by professionals. I had a liking for 2 great Christian singers who were very popular but I wanted a counsel from the Lord as to his will regarding the matter. We had planned a 10 song album and we were singing as a family for the same. I prayed regarding the matter for a few days and then one night I dreamt the following dream.
I was standing in an open ground and a table was before me and on it were 10 pieces of colored cloths neatly folded and kept side by side. After a while I saw the 2 professional singers come to the table and I picked up 3 pieces of cloths and gave it to one singer who accepted it graciously and went away smiling. To the other singer, I did not give any and he just walked away after a while. The dream ended there.
God was just making known his will regarding the request for counsel that I had placed in his presence. As I was shown in the dream, I had the chosen professional singer sing three songs for our second album.
This was a simple dream, which even a novice to dreams could have interpreted.
God speaks, if we are willing to wait in his presence. He has answers to our questions.
Of course, some of his answers may not be readily understood by our finite minds now. That will change when join with him in eternity.
Counsel and sound knowledge are mine. I have understanding and power. (Proverbs 8:14)

Flight attendants
A couple of days before travelling on a flight from Kerala to the Middle East, I saw a dream in which I was surrounded by flight attendants and they were all smiling and talking among themselves. The dream did not seem troubling, so I did not pray much about it. The next day we had a 3 hour journey to reach the airport. I was not feeling very well in my stomach that day, so I skipped lunch and did not have much dinner either, just a few chips and a glass of juice. It was an early morning flight and things seemed fine when I and my family boarded the aircraft. Halfway through the journey, I felt that the atmosphere in the plane was getting stuffy. Thinking I would feel fresh if I went to the toilet and washed my face, I proceeded to the front of the aircraft without waking my wife and daughter who were asleep.
Once in the toilet, after locking the door, suddenly everything around started spinning and I felt my mind clouding. I opened the door and stumbled out, swaying to both sides. The flight attendants saw me in that condition and quickly grabbed my hands and put me on a seat nearby. There was a flurry of questions, regarding my seat number, whether anyone else was travelling with me, whether I was a diabetic/hypertensive/had heart disease. Though weak with my dizziness persisting, I answered them. Someone informed the captain and he radioed for a doctor, but there were none on the flight. I kept saying, "I am a doctor, I am a doctor."Someone gave me a glass of orange juice and I drank it. I was offered sugar and I had that too. My wife and daughter were near now as they had been called; they fanned my face for fresh air. Slowly things started clearing up in my mind and the dizziness subsided. When I looked around, just as in the dream, I could see several flight attendants around me, smiling and talking. The stuffy atmosphere in the plane coupled with my blood sugar dropping because of skipping meals had brought on the malady. Soon it was time for the flight to land and things returned to normalcy.
Musing on the dream later on, I felt I should have taken the dream more seriously and prayed better.
But praise God that he was in control all throughout my difficulty though.

Boasting
In this dream, I saw a friend of mine, a managing director of a multinational company who is also a minister of the Gospel, talking or rather boasting about his success in business and ministry, while walking towards a railway station to board a train. It was an important journey for him, one that had far reaching consequences regarding his future, but he was so engrossed in his boasting that the train arrived and left and by the time he reached the station, he could see the train gaining speed and disappear away. In the next scene of the dream, he was shown to be dejected and depressed, the business having failed and his ministry being in shambles.
The dream was for me to pray regarding my friend, that he may not fail, despite pride and arrogance having come in to him. The important journey that would have far reaching consequences in his life was to be his righteous walk with God, but that he missed because success had made him haughty.
And failure had resulted in dejection and depression.
We read in the book of Proverbs....
When pride comes, then comes shame...(Proverbs 11:2)
Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall.(Proverbs 16:18)
A man's pride will bring him low.... (Proverbs 29:23)
I pray for him everyday that he may not fall. I guess someone else may be praying the same for me too.
A good advice from the Apostle Paul to all believers and ministers is this..............
Therefore let him who thinks he stands, take heed lest he fall. (1 Corinthians 10:12)

Faith enhanced spiritual vision
In this dream, I was preaching to a congregation regarding the difference between how our mind interprets situations in our lives and finds solutions for problems and how our spirit bolstered with faith in God and the promises in his Word visualizes situations and gets results where our mind often fails with it's quests.
It's true that with our intelligence, wisdom and life experiences, we decipher difficult circumstances in our lives and find solutions, but then comes complex trials in our life where it becomes difficult for our natural faculties to get results despite seeking several options. In these situations it is only faith enhanced inner vision that can make our spirit believe in the supernatural power of Almighty God and believing, get the desired results.
One who believes in God Almighty and his word and has his spirit bolstered by faith can see beyond what his mind can see.
To cite an example from the Old Testament................Elijah, that great Old Testament prophet had a promise from God after 3 and half years of famine, that God was sending rain on the land. There were no signs of rain, yet the prophet confidently told king Ahab, "Get up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.” So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he bowed himself down on the earth, and put his face between his knees. He said to his servant, “Go up now, and look towards the sea.” He went up, and looked, and said, “There is nothing.” He said, “Go again” seven times. On the seventh time, he said, “Behold, a small cloud, like a man’s hand, is rising out of the sea.” He said, “Go up, tell Ahab, ‘Get ready and go down, so that the rain doesn’t stop you.’ ” In a little while, the sky grew black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain.
Jesus once said, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes." (Mark 9:23)
and the writer of Hebrews says,
Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen. Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him. (Hebrews 11:1, 6)

Abortion
Over the past 23 years that I have been in Christian ministry, a few times the Lord has shown me dreams of how some couples, some even believers, commit the grievous sin of aborting a baby growing in the womb. Some of them have a "I don't care"attitude regarding the same and this grieves our Savior.
Some of these dreams have been shown by the Lord for me to pray and intercede that the couple involved may decide not to abort. Perhaps they may have been confused and indecisive regarding what to do and then intercessory prayer makes the Lord's hand to move their hearts to take the right decision and continue with the pregnancy.
God considers a baby in the mother's womb a living human being and ending it's life is contrary to the Word of God and a grievous sin. Most abortions (>95 %) are done because the (wife/husband)/(single woman/male partner in a relation) does not want to have the baby.
David, the great king of Israel speaks of how, God was watching over him while he was being formed in his mother's womb.....
For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to you, For I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. My frame wasn't hidden from you, When I was made in secret, Woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my body. In your book they were all written, The days that were ordained for me, When as yet there were none of them. (Psalm 139:13-16)
And God speaking to Jeremiah confirms his involvement in the creative process of every human being born in to the world.
Before I formed you in the belly I knew you, and before you came forth out of the womb I sanctified you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations. (Jeremiah 1:5)
May the Lord Jesus Christ lead us all in the paths of righteousness.

Warding off evil
People from many families do things to ward off evil in the lives of their children, especially newborns and young ones. One of the things that they do is to apply "kajal"(kohl/surma) to the babies eyes. Others apply a kaala tikka (black dot) on the forehead of the baby or behind it's ear. This is to ward off bad spirits from affecting the child adversely. The trend may be understandable in the lives of them who are not believers in Jesus Christ, but when a believer does it and more so, a minister of the Gospel, it becomes a matter of concern for the Holy Spirit of God. Thus this dream.
In the dream, I saw a minister friend of mine, a young man in his thirties with his wife in their room, looking at their newborn son who was lying on the bed. As a camera zooms in to see things in macro, in the dream, my eyes were drawn towards the face of the baby which had a big black dot drawn on it. Seeing that, surprised me and I looked questioningly at the parents. The dream ended there.
Surely a believer in Jesus Christ, more so a minister should know what keeps evil away from his family. Jesus & Jesus alone...............Then why would he/his wife do it?
Surprising as it may seem, many so called Christians follow this and several other practices to ward off evil. The matter is perhaps of lack of faith in ones prayers and the promises of God and the lack of confidence that God alone is enough to keep us safe.
Do we, as believers in Jesus Christ, believe in our prayers? Do we believe in the promises of God to keep us safe from the evil one? Do we believe that God alone is enough to keep us safe from evil?
Perhaps a re-evaluation is needed in the lives of many believers.
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust." Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. (Psalm 91:1-4)
